A high protein, sugar free modak to bring this Ganpati festival to a sweet close.

These are the final dessert on my list for Anant Chaturdashi this year, a chocolate and banana modak that is soft, naturally sweet, and packed with protein. No refined sugar, no dairy, just simple ingredients pressed into a mould and finished with melted chocolate and a drizzle of cashew butter.

I sweetened these with Perfect Sweets, a completely natural, zero calorie sweetener that works beautifully in Indian sweets. It let the banana and cashew butter flavours come through without any of the aftertaste some sweeteners can leave behind.

This recipe is:

• Vegan & dairy free

• Sugar free

• High protein

• Gluten free

• Made with wholesome, everyday ingredients

Why This Recipe Works

Mashed banana and coconut flour form the base of this dough, giving it a soft, pliable texture that presses easily into a modak mould without cracking. Cashew butter adds richness and helps everything bind together, while a scoop of vegan banana protein powder turns a festive sweet into something that actually supports your body too.

• Mashed banana keeps the dough soft and naturally sweet

• Cashew butter binds the dough and adds richness

• Vegan protein powder makes this modak a genuinely high protein treat

• Perfect Sweets sweetens without any refined sugar or aftertaste

• Melted chocolate and a cashew butter drizzle make it feel truly festive

How to Make Chocolate Banana Modaks (Overview)

This comes together in 3 simple steps:

1. Make the Dough

Combine coconut flour, cashew butter, Perfect Sweets, protein powder, and mashed banana into a soft dough.

2. Shape

Press the dough into a modak mould to form the shape.

3. Finish and Chill

Cover with melted chocolate, drizzle with cashew butter, and set in the fridge.

Tips for Best Results

• Use ripe, soft bananas for the smoothest dough

• Press the dough firmly into the mould so the modak holds its shape when unmoulded

• Any protein powder flavour works here, though banana or vanilla blends in most seamlessly

• Give the modaks the full 30 minutes in the fridge so the chocolate sets properly before serving
